Australian pair Bernard Tomic and Sam Stosur are favourites to win the 2014 Hopman Cup, priced at $4.50 by online bookmaker Sportsbet Australia.
The hometown team just heads the betting from the USA ($5.00), France ($5.50) and first up opponents Canada ($5.50). The Czech Republic ($6.00), Italy ($13), Poland and Spain (both $26) round out the field.
Interestingly, Tomic will start his head to head match against Milos Raonic as the outsider, priced at $2.59 with the Canadian the $1.46 favourite. Sam Stosur is a well backed favourite ($1.50) for her clash against Eugenie Bouchard ($2.50).
“The Aussie pair are the best backed team by punters to win the Hopman Cup and we think they’re the team to beat. Bernie just needs to stay of the tiles until after the event is over!” Sportsbet’s Ben Hawes said.
Tomic and Stosur are currently $101 and $41 shots respectively to win their upcoming Australian Open tournaments.
