Greater Western Sydney will start favourite in a match for the first time since joining the AFL when it plays Melbourne on Saturday at home after a sustained betting plunge.
“They have been backed off the map this week, we put them up $2 outsiders against the Des but the punters have smashed them into $1.83. They have been the best backed team of the round,” Centrebet’s Michael Felgate said.
Despite being winless this season GWS looks to be the “form” team going into the game against Melbourne after pushing Collingwood for three-quarters last week.
Goal-kicking gun Jeremy Cameron has also been well backed to win the Coleman Medal after a career-best 7 goals against the Pies last week took him to 50 goals for the season, just 4 behind leaders.
Cameron was $201 to win the Coleman at the start of the season but is now an $11 chance at Centrebet.
“We had one very astute punter have $125 on Cameron at $201 pre-season. He is now sweating at a $25,000 windfall if Cameron wins the goal-kicking,” Felgate said.
