Punters have started to launched into Australia to win their opening match against England and also claim the 2013 Rugby League World Cup which starts Sunday 12.30am AEDT in Cardiff.
Late yesterday one punter had $50,000 @ $1.18 on Australia to beat England who have stood down forward Gareth Hock.
“Given England’s surprise warm-up loss to Italy and the standing down of Gareth Hock, it is no surprise we are seeing money for Australia,” said TAB’s Matt Jenkins.
“We have been open on the winner market for over a year and there is just very little interest in England ($10) winning the tournament.
“They are only marginally more popular than Tonga ($101).”
Last week another customer placed $50,000 @ $1.45 on Australia to win the World Cup.
Head to Head and line betting will be available two days prior to the start of each match.
