Punters with online bookmaker Sportsbet Australia are backing Newcastle to continue their fairy-tale run to the 2013 NRL Premiership, with more money bet on the Knights than the Roosters ahead of their preliminary final on Saturday night.
55 percent of all money bet on the game has gone on the Knights, who’ve firmed from $3.40 into $3.30, with the Roosters easing from $1.33 out to $1.35.
As the last team from the bottom four of the top eight still remaining, the Knights are two wins from a premiership glory and the $100,000 bounty offered by Sportsbet for a side outside the top four to win the this year’s premiership.
If the Roosters versus Knights clash is the chalk, then Friday night’s preliminary final between the Rabbitohs and Sea Eagles is the cheese. Money is flooding in 4 to 1 in favour of South Sydney, who remain the $1.48 favourites, as Manly drift out to $2.70.
In premiership winner betting, the Roosters are outright favourites at $2.50, ahead of the Bunnies ($2.75), Manly ($5.00) and Knights ($8.00).
