Michael Cheika has been installed as the $1.33 favourite by online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au to be the next coach of the NSW Waratahs.
Former Wallaby and Manly coach Tim Lane, former Ireland mentor Eddie O’Sullivan and former West Harbour coach Brian Melrose share the second line of betting at $7.00.
Others in the market include current Waratahs assistant Allan Gaffney ($9.00), former NRL player Phil Blake ($13), current Reds director of coaching Ewen McKenzie ($21) and Todd Louden ($34).
“Michael Foley only resigned on Tuesday so it is early days, but the market indicates Michael Cheika is in the box-seat to be the next Waratahs coach,” sportsbet.com.au’s Ben Hawes said.
Sportsbet.com.au has also opened a market on whether or not the Waratahs will make the finals in 2013, with ‘No’ the $1.42 favourite and ‘Yes’ the $2.75 outsider.
