Fremantle is attracting the bulk of late support to win tomorrow’s AFL Grand Final with punters cutting the Dockers’ odds from $2.45 into $2.25 at Sportingbet.
Hawthorn’s odds have drifted from $1.58 out to $1.68.
“The money has been running 60/40 in Fremantle’s favour since Thursday,” Sportingbet Australia spokesman Andrew Brown said.
“We’ve taken an equal number of five-figure wagers for each side but the Dockers are attracting a much higher volume of bets, particularly in the $20 to $100 range,” Brown said.
Hawthorn star Sam Mitchell has firmed from $8 into $7 equal favouritism with team-mate Luke Hodge and Fremantle’s Nathan Fyfe for the Norm Smith Medal. Michael Barlow is $9 in front of David Mundy and Matthew Pavlich at $12.
“One punter will collect $40,000 if Mitchell wins the Norm Smith after having $5,000 on him at the $8,” Brown said.
Sportingbet expects to hold $5 million dollars across the 270 AFL Grand Final markets it is taking bets on.
