Money continues to pour in for Rain Affair to take out tomorrow’s Warwick Stakes with the star six-year-old attracting ten times more money than the second best supported runner with online bookmaker Sportsbet.
Rain Affair, opened as the $2.50 favourite, has firmed into $2.00, despite drawing barrier 13 in the 14-horse field. Such is the weight of money for the gelding, second favourite Streama has eased from $3.50 to $4.60.
“This has been an amazing go and the money just keeps on coming. We thought the wide draw might slow punters, but it has been quite the opposite,” Sportsbet’s Ben Hawes said.
The Chris Waller trained Beaten Up has firmed slightly, $11 into $9.00, after drawing the rails for the Warwick Farm Group 2, joining Toydini on the third line of betting, while roughies Veyron ($34), Metal Bender ($51) and Kellini ($51) all have some admirers.
Despite Rain Affair being the clear pick by punters and race favourite, Sportsbet will refund punters their bet on Saturday’s Warwick Stakes if their horse runs second to Rain Affair.
